Land purchase and utility studies still ahead

Zach Tomesch of KFJB reports for Radio Iowa that Swarm Systems CEO Amir Atefi intends to pursue a land purchase after Marshalltown’s four-month data-center construction moratorium, which the report says expires in late November. The council had not acted on the company’s offer before it expired.

Atefi said ownership would let the company begin discussions with Alliant Energy about infrastructure capacity and necessary upgrades. These are the developer’s plans; the report does not establish a completed purchase, construction approval, or confirmed electricity supply.

City and county actions are distinct
